List of restrictions on Haridwar Kumbha 2021

In major news, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has stated that the 2021 Haridwar Kumbha will be organized with a limited number of pilgrims. There will be restrictions on the number of people and entry passes will be issued. The widely famous Kumbha Mela is all set to be held in 2021 in Haridwar.

However, this time the grand religious fair is going to be completely different, given the ongoing contagious coronavirus pandemic. The Uttarakhand government has decided to take some strict steps to control overcrowding and to stay safe from the potential increase in virus cases.

The CM told the media, “Passes will be issued to devotees as the congregation will be numerically restricted due to the coronavirus pandemic.”

This will be the first time in the history of Kumbha Mela that such a decision has been made.

The CM further said that before taking this major decision, he discussed the issue with all the saints and seers, who unanimously agreed with capping the number of pilgrims.“A numerically restricted Kumbh makes it necessary that devotees are allowed entry into the Kumbh fair on the basis of passes,” he said.

The Uttarakhand government is currently busy with preparations to host one of the biggest religious fairs in the world, which is visited by lakhs of devotees. A fair is also an exciting event for tourists, photographers, and videographers from around the world.

The government has fixed December as the deadline to complete all the work related to the Kumbha. The event will begin on the auspicious date of Makar Sankranti which is on January 14, 2021.
