Noida will have a unique eco bridge, 1st in the country:
Due to human activities such as deforestation, habitat loss, lack of prey and illegal roads cut through the forest, human-wildlife conflict is one of the key threat to Indian wildlife. In an initiative to preserve the balance between human activities and wildlife, Noida authority plans to create the first of its kind eco-bridge in Noida, also the first one in the country.
An animal passage will be constructed with the help of two sides of city’s biggest ecotourism hub in sector 91 on an existing unused walking bridge, over the culvert, that will be transformed as an animal pass for the wildlife to easily move within the region and cross the culvert and on to the adjoining road.
The primary aim of the animal pass is to conserve and preserve wild animals from any vehicular collision. The Noida authority plans to develop the ‘lungs of Noida’ in sector 91 with a city forest, for it to become a tourist spot, along with the eco-tourism zone, once its construction gets over.
It will be a city forest and 146 acres of green belt, a herbal garden, biodiversity park and a wetland. The Biodiversity Park is almost complete, covering an area of 75 acres.
The forest is populated by reptiles, wild lizards, brown Indian hare, mongoose and peacocks. Migratory birds, butterflies, dragonflies and numerous insect species also reside in the forest.
The area that will be accessible through sector 137 and sector 83 metro stations, is a big measure and an inventive way to avoid road accidents and enhance the tourism in NCR region.
