  • Kachori Sabji 

Kachori Sabji is one of the most popular breakfast options in Banaras. There are two different types of kachori Badi and Choti Kachori. Badi kachori is stuffed with masala prepared with dal ki pithi and choti kachori is stuffed with spicy potato mixture. Both of the varieties are served with aloo ki sabzi and desi ghee jalebi. 

  • Choodha Matar

This dish is the Benarasi version of Poha. It is made with flattened rice which is soaked in ghee and stir-fried with fresh green peas and a variety of spices. It is a kind of evening snacks and is enjoyed best with hot masala chai. 

  • Malaiyo 

This delicious street food of Varanasi is made from milk and is served in kulhad. The dish has Persian origins and is flavored with saffron and cardamom. Sometimes it is garnished with almonds and pistachios. This creamy dish will just melt in your mouth. 

  • Baati Chokha 

It is one of the most popular foods found on the streets of Varanasi. Baati is a wheat ball stuffed with sattu and Chokha is a mash of brinjal and potatoes. Baati Chokha is available almost everywhere on the streets of Varanasi as well as plush restaurants.

  • Tamatar Chaat 

Banaras has its own style of Aloo Tikki which is made with tomatoes, hing, ginger, green chilies, tomatoes are added to mashed potatoes. Chaat masala is sprinkled on the tikki before serving. You should absolutely try this Banarasi specialty. 

  • Rabri Malai Lassi 

Banarasi Lassi is very different from the Punjabi one. It is a complete meal in itself. Handmade lassi topped with rabri and malai garnished with dry fruits. This drink is served in kulhad.
