Saudi Arabia Has Banned Travelling to 15 Countries Including India

With the rapid surge in the number of covid cases due to the re-outbreak of a novel coronavirus, Saudi Arabia has banned its citizens from travelling to India and other 16 countries. With the new variants of covid-19, covid cases over the past few weeks have been unstoppable in Saudi Arabia.

Apart from India, the other 15 countries that are banned from travelling are Lebanon, Turkey, Syria, Yemen, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Libya, Armenia, Somalia, Indonesia, Iran, Belarus, Ethiopia, and Venezuela.

As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India recorded 2,226 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours. The WHO officials have also said that the pandemic has not certainly been over because, with the omicron wave, the cases have started increasing again.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the UN Health Agency gathered in Geneva for WHO’s annual meeting. He told the respected authorities that by declining the testing, we ourselves are blinded to the constant evolution of the virus. The risk of virus transmission is also at a surge since many people are still not vaccinated.
